Located in Mohalla KHAKRA, on the banks of DEVHA and KHAKRA rivers, this temple has been a religious site for 250 years. According to legend, PUJARI Pandit Har Prasad’s ancestors traveled to this location with other holy people when there was only a forest. One night, Pandit Har Prasad had a dream of Bhagwan Shankar at this very spot, and when he woke up, he saw the moorti of SHANKAR BHAGWAN.

Over time, the temple was built, and today, it stands as a prominent religious destination. Every year, a grand fair is held at this location during SHIVRATRI, RAKSHA BANDHAN, and on every Monday of SHARAVAN MAS. To accommodate devotees, a dharamshala was constructed on the temple’s periphery, funded by one of the temple’s benefactors, Dwarika Das Banjara. The temple has large entrance gates on the eastern and southern sides, built by Hafiz Rahmat Khan. To experience the natural beauty and spirituality of the area, visitors can easily make a Pilbhit Tiger Reserve booking and embark on a Pilbhit Jungle Safari.
